In the previous six years, the bright-minded and ever-trendy Emma Hill, has held the position of creative director for the leather-goods, British brand, Mulberry. Why did she leave? There was said to be a "difference of opinion over creative and operational strategy" on Hill's part. When reflecting on the past six years of Hill's work in her position, she has built up Mulberry's status by basing the designs and visuals for the commercial stores on a heritage brand... to what now has evolved to a cultish label. She is of course, responsible for the Del Rey, Alexa and Willow bags which have been available in stores. Not only that, but Hill has seemingly launched the RTW (ready-to-wear) line, as well as accessories, jewelry and footwear collections.
Avid fashion-know-it-all's will know that Reed Krakoff, current executive creator and president, will leave Coach next year. What this means for Coach is that all will be chaos when searching, or more like scrambling just to find a suitable replacement. Of course, when speaking in terms of reality, Hill is not the only option, Nicolas Ghesquière and Marc Jacobs will also be in the running for the highly sought position. Now, let's not move along just yet, no, let's bask in the originality of mixing trends with tradition, pups on the runway and golden balloons that is Emma Hill.
