RUNWAY ROULETTE: MILAN EDITION PT. 2

 DSQUARED2 MEN'S RTW SPRING 2O14

*“James Dean crashes his plane on a tropical island and adapts,” Dan Caten said of the spring collection’s story line.*
*The show opened with a model in the role of the late Hollywood icon taking a shower under a tropical waterfall next to the crash site, wearing nothing but a pair of briefs from the duo’s new undies and swimwear line with Isa.*
*The James Dean the duo imagined chopped off his cotton pants at mid-calf, but kept his biker jacket, a denim-leather combo.*
*As he got bored, he started sketching tropical motifs, which translated into prints for Bermuda shorts and rockabilly T-shirts, while slouchy, laser-cut shorts and jackets made from a lightweight, waterproof fabric imitating leather kept him dry from monsoons.*
*The Fifties flavour was felt throughout — on a tacky curtain print, for example, which evolved into cropped pants and jackets, as well as on a run of evening-wear.*
*“Because James Dean has a night life, too,” explained the other designing twin, Dean Caten, pointing to a rattanlike fabric the duo used to make slim-fit tuxedos.*
